Best performance from Robin Williams (aside from his stellar dramatic work in One Hour Photo and Insomnia).Actionmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16513109522731313470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1765008161115599620.post-10777833030391393282009-05-22T07:52:11.438-07:002009-05-22T07:52:11.438-07:00Duplex is the best film (that I've seen) of Danny ...Duplex is the best film (that I've seen) of Danny DeVito's directorial career. Even better than the monumentally underappreciated Death to Smoochy and the brilliant Throw Momma from the Train. It's a dark comedy, actually, though the trailers make it look more pleasant than it is. Brilliant stuff, imo.

Three Stooges has BIG potential. I mean, Carrey, Penn, and Del Toro. Should at least be different, even if it's awful, right?Joelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16564846610934480928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1765008161115599620.post-92229480743162733102009-05-22T05:39:44.818-07:002009-05-22T05:39:44.818-07:00The Princess Bride almost made my list, but that f...The Princess Bride almost made my list, but that film is a genre hybrid, which makes it tough to classify. Great film though.

Me, Myself, and Irene is extremely underappreciated.

I never saw Duplex -- I heard it was basically dog-doodie posing as a movie. It's "brilliant?"

Hot Shots: Part Deux is one that might've made my list...I momentarily forgot about that one...so many amazing lines of dialogue in that spoof. One of the better movies of its type.

I hope that this newly announced Three Stooges movie returns the Farrelly Brothers to old form.Actionmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16513109522731313470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1765008161115599620.post-36610229302849906232009-05-21T20:35:52.960-07:002009-05-21T20:35:52.960-07:00Oh and I didn't see Shallow Hal for the record. Dr. Strangelove
2. The Princess Bride (not many people think of this as a comedy, but I sure do)
3. Tropic Thunder
4. Dumb & Dumber (Farrellys' masterpiece)
5. The Big Lebowski (just fucking great)
6. (tie) Hot Shots! Part Deux and Airplane!
7. Groundhog Day (Bill Murray's best comedy)
8. Duplex (yeah, brilliant movie)
9. Pineapple Express
10. Naked Gun! Trilogy

As you can see, I really like Zucker and Co.

I wish the Farrelly Bros. would go back to making good movies. That would be nice. I didn't waste my time with Heartbreak Kid. Last decent movie they did was Me Myself & Irene (which would be #11 for me). Stuck on You was just juvenile and sappy in a very Sandler way, which is NOT NOT NOT what Farrelly's are known for.Joelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16564846610934480928noreply@blogger.com
