LITTLE LIZARD

Gore Verbinski's surreal, witty, Chinatown & Western-tinged Rango is easily the best animated film of the year.

An amazing film. At least Johnny Depp has this film to put his name behind to equal out the disaster of "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

Meanwhile, "Super 8" is a complete and total knockout in every fashion of the word. Whatever genius J.J. Abrams has as filmmaker, let us hope he never loses it. Absolute stunner of a summer blockbuster.

Less of one is "X-Men: First Class," which I still quite liked. I agree with your little spiel though: it's a geekfest. I think it's the third best of the series (behind the incredible "X2" and the underrated "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," on par with "X-Men" and miles ahead of "X-Men: The Last Stand").

Still need to brave "Green Lantern," which I'm not really anticipating. Also wanna do an R-rated double feature with "Bad Teacher" and "Horrible Bosses." And yes, I'm attending Thursday's midnight showing of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2." If you didn't already guess that, you live under a rock or in an Amish community.

I gotta pick up Rango soon and give it another watch...loved it when I saw it a few months back...

I agree with you re: Super 8 -- awesome popcorn flick.

I skipped Green Lantern as I didn't want to get depressed...

Haven't seen the last 12 Potter movies so I'll be sitting this one out as well...hope it concludes on a satisfactory note for you...
