Nobody does epic like Ridley Scott. I am pumped for Robin Hood. I like old-school, huge-canvass, expansively-shot films and Robin Hood looks to be no exception.
Truly. It's PG-13, but Robin Hood isn't an R-rated story, so Scott could easily attempt a sort of PG-13 "Kingdom of Heaven" and I will still be happy. I was unimpressed by the last serious attempt to do this ("Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" which I watched last April for the first time in ten years, and wasn't impressed AT ALL), but Scott could make a new "Braveheart"/"Gladiator"/"Kingdom of Heaven" type of thing. If that occurs...look for it on my top ten. It'll be a manly movie. I am JUST as pumped as you.
"Manly" is the operative word here, Joel. Good on you for realizing that. The PG-13 is a bit worrisome, but as you said, Robin Hood isn't necessarily and R-rated story. Still, Ridley RARELY does a PG-13, so we'll have to see...
