MOVIES FOR THE WEEKEND

Horrible Bosses looks funny and I love the cast -- plan to check it out on Sunday at the moment...

From Netflix is the Turkish drama Three Monkeys, which I've heard great things about over the last couple of years...

Need to see The Tree of Life again...

Really enjoyed Barney's Version, despite the inherent sadness.  Mini-review will be posted soon...

Well, Nick, Basic Training (and the Air Force in general) was a bust. I can't really go in to it, but that door is closed.

Meanwhile, I'm seeing "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" in an hour. It's my first post-BMT movie experience, and one of many I'll be having in the next week to catch up on stuff before "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" melts my brain.

I enjoyed the newest bit of Bay destruction, but it's pretty clearly the least of the movies, with "Revenge of the Fallen" far above it. It actually went on way too long this time around, and whenever it paused to take a breath, the thing screeched to a halt. Did it NEED to be 157 freaking minutes?

That said, it's a ride, and it's a fun one. My recommendation's more reserved than I would have liked, but yet again, the robots have fulfilled as popcorntastic entertainment.

sounds exactly they way I felt. preferred two to three, one is the best, but three's final 50 mins or so were STAGGERING. had the film been 2 hours total it would have been a masterwork. as is, it was a fun time.
