I have some reviews coming up for INDY 4 (***1/2), SEX AND THE CITY (***), and THE FALL (****), which was the best film I've seen so far this year. Truly extraordinary. Can't stop thinking about it. Masterful stuff. Go see it if it's playing in your neck of the woods.

wow. i might have to go catch 'the fall' now. i love 'the cell,' a truly creepy movie and one of the most visually stunning films you'll ever see. not sure why he doesn't work more.

saw 'sex and the city' last night and really enjoyed it. don't understand all the hate. same deal as with the tv show: really funny, good writing and a bunch of pitch-perfect performances. they really cast that show perfectly. my favorite on the tv show was miranda but i thought samantha stole the movie. this may be a stretch but she was borderline oscar nomination good. i forgot how much she nails that part. hilarious. chris noth is perfect too.

i am comfortable enough with my sexuality to admit to the world that i watch 'enchanted' and 'sex and the city' on back to back nights. and liked them both. in the interest of balance i will now spend the rest of the week watching sports.

Yes, puleeeeeeeze go check out THE FALL. Nobody (in the grand scheme of things) will see it and it's a crime that that's the truth. It's pure art and I loved every single frame of it. Words can't describe the visual beauty that Tarsem created with this film. It's a masterwork.

Yes, SEX AND THE CITY was a fun, breezy chick-flick that delivered exactly what I expected. If you loved the show, you'll love the movie. If you didn't watch the show or didn't like it when it was on HBO, go see something else. There's lots out there. Some of the critical responses were downright ugly, not to mention sexist. There is really no difference between Sex and the City and a film like Bad Boys 2. It's wish-fulfillment for the ladies and they were eating it up in my theater. And overall, I thought it was fun. All of the performances were in line with what was on display on the show, but yes, Cattrall stole much of the film. And Kristin Davis, who was always my favorite, got some good stuff in there as well.

The idea of heterosexual men needing to defend their enjoyment of this film is just ridiculous. Did the film work? Did it entertain you? Were you satisfied? These are the only questions that need to be answered. And yes, as a BIG fan of Enchanted (I own the dvd and have watched it multiple times now), there's nothing wrong in admitting enjoyment over movies that are chick-centric.
