Totally and completely "meh." Twist ruins everything.
Meanwhile, I FINALLY watched "300" today (in preparation for a 10:00 screening of "Sucker Punch"). What a glorious experience that was. I regrettably didn't watch it in Blu-ray.
Such a blood-pumping masterwork of imagery. It's almost as if Snyder took an Eisensteinian approach to CG shots here. He wasn't so much concerned with plotting (and there wasn't much in the way of that, let's be honest) as he was with commanding the cinema screen with as much prowess as any great director out there.
If he does the same with "Sucker Punch"...holy shit, we're in for a ride.
I'm looking forward to Sucker Punch (mostly on a pure-visual level) but the lack of early reviews is slightly troubling...
I saw 300 five times theatrically, the first time, about 6 months early at a test screening. I marched right up to Snyder after the lights came up (he was in the lobby getting reactions) and told him how fucking awesome the film was. He was very cool. I've enjoyed all of his movies (haven't seen the owl thing but want too) so far and I am excited that he's taking on Superman.
"Sucker Punch" fucking rocked. In a huge way. Not only is it visually just absolutely amazing, it's also working with as many themes as "Watchmen" was. Just a knockout in every respect. The reviews it's getting are completely unfair.

Glad you loved it. It looks totally rad.
Snyder doesn't really make movies for critics and for some reason something tells me that they won't "get" this movie.
I'm seeing it Saturday afternoon for sure.
