Not a fan of "12 Years A Slave?" Was it you and not Armond White screaming vitriol at McQueen from the back of that fateful room?
No, but seriously, "12 Years..." was one of the best films of the year. I'd like to know Actionman's thoughts.
Btw, totally agree with you on "All Is Lost." Transcendent filmmaking.
I thought 12 Years a Slave was masterful filmmaking. Fassbender tore it up -- had a helluva year in general. Lupita was heart breaking. It felt Gump-ish, not in a bad way, but in an episodic manner. Wonderful Bobbit cinematography. McQueen is an visual artist. The final few mins with Northrup are very intense. I thought it was excellent and it lands just outside of my top 20 for the year, in the 20-30 grouping.
