ive been thinking a bit. what about Unforgiven? or The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari? any true young film enthusiast should be familiar with, and be able to appreciate these films for what they are and what they represent.
even if their reference point includes some movies for "simpletons.."

Dr. Caligari is a phenomenal choice. The Bicycle Thief is also a film that everyone should see. Unforgiven is a masterwork and could easily be included.
