THE FIRST MOVIE SURPRISE OF 2008

DEFINITELY, MAYBE lives up to the advanced hype of being an excellent romantic comedy. I loved this film; my full review will be up later this week.

Gonna watch another Ryan Reynolds film tonight -- THE NINES.

IN BRUGES tomorrow....can't wait...

You want my opinion on a great movie? Well, here it is....FrankenWeenie! That's right, it's Tim Burton's best. I don't know who th' hell you think you are writing all these reviews. What are you fom West Hartford or some other upscale place?

Nickie,
Your brain must've turned a bit mushy from eating too many Pink's hot dogs.
This is the guy that you made wipe your tushy when you were around 2 or 3 years old. You always needed help when I was eating.

Ha! Seth...holy shit...how did you find this blog?

How are you doing?

Seth said...

...aah, so you want to know how I found your blog? I put a key phrase into Google: "The Clement with talent" and up popped your name!
Just kidding (not really). Frank Marchese told me in between his naps. Not kidding about Frankwnweenie though. Where in L.A. are you? I used to live on LaBrea and SantaMonica.

I have never seen Frankenweenie...guess I need to. Is it like Pee-Wee's Play House?

I live in Santa Monica; know the La Brea area quite well!

Nick--
Frankenweenie is a masterpeice!! It has a lot of horror trivia and inside jokes that only the old film buffs would get. Shot in black ad white and maybe 20 minutes long, was made for the Disney folk who I think crapped their pants when they saw it.

Are you part of the Zionist conspiracy to influence the young audiences these days? I mean, that's why you're probably in LA right? Oh yeah, wait--you're not Jewish! I forgot, but you're a Zionist sympathizer anyhow. Your dad used to crack up my grandmother with his dead on Yiddish accent (something one never heard in the greater/lesser Fartford area)--a culturally deprived insurance mecca.
Do you still have those curly locks and have you been potty trained yet? How's your cutie pie sister?

I will have to check out Frankenweenie...gotta see how I can find a copy.

Marisa is doing great...she's living in Chicago

My LA time is coming to an end soon I think...the east coast is a much better place to be.

My dad still does a wonderful yiddish accent.

And by the way, it looks like Tim Burton is doing a feature version of Frankenweenie for release in 2009.

Nick--
Wow, I can't believe that Frankenweenie will be a feature length movie. They used a dog in the movie that was the same one I had-- a Bull Terrier (Chopper). I onced walked Chopper down Lasalle in West Hartford and a woman came out of a jewelry store, looked at him and screamed! Then she ran back into the store, I heard yelling "Pit bull, pit bull!" It was so funny. I like your reviews. My all time favorite movie was City Lights by Charlie Chaplin. I thought it was a masterpeice and his best work. There's a good story behind my love for Chaplin that I'll tell you one day.

I remember your dog vividly.

The IMDB says that Frankenweenie is coming out December 2009; it will be a stop-motion animated film ala Nightmare Before Christmas. No word yet on who will be doing the voices, though wanna bet Depp is involved somehow...?

I once had Chopper sitting in my car. I was parked out on the street in front of your house. Your friend Ari was walking up the street with his pooch and towards my car. I tried tio motion to him to not get too close because Chopper was a little territorial. Unfortunately, Ari didn't heed my warning and Chopper lunged towards the cracked open window with the force of a baby Rhino'. I managed to grab his leash and stop anything from happening, but not after I saw the terrified look on Ari's face and his dog's too. Then I found out that not long after, his dog died of a bad heart. I couldn't help but wonder if somehow, Chopper's near miss of a blood bath had shortened the other dog's life. It actually bothered me for a long time.

Are being serious?

Ari Levy! Wow...a name I haven't thought of in a looooong time...

Hi Nick,

Yeah I was serious about the Ari story. I remember your first b'day. You had cake all over your puss. You were sitting in a high chair and you were preoccupied with your cake. I never forgot it. I think your dad filmed it--although I never saw it(film) but remember him with a camera. Your aunt Clarine was there too. How is she? How're your folks? Your mother cooked wonderful dishes---especially Sunday brunches. I'd starve myself for a day then head over for a feast. They used to make fun of my appetite. Go figure.
