If you have any interest at all in the film, see it on the big screen. Its main strength is its cinematography. Second most gorgeous movie to look at on a big screen this year behind The Fall.
It will definitely look great on Blu Ray. It's just that it's very sweeping and very epic from a cinematography stand point. Overall, I enjoyed the film, but it was too long and it had some dodgy CGI work. Both Jackman and Kidman provided solid movie-star performances and I apprecaited the passion that Baz brought to his story, even if it was a bit scattered. I was entertained, though, and sometimes, that's enough.

I may rent this, or something, then.

I'll rent it on Blu-Ray. Or would that make a difference? I have a passing interest in the movie, but not a rush-out-to-the-theater kind.

Like "Journey to the Center of the Earth" for me. Epic in a weird way, and beautiful, but empty. I still sort of fell for its charms.
