Michael Bay deserves the greatest blow job ever. Not every Bay movie is perfect in the long run, but his action completely blows away everyone else out there.
Yes, the film looks gargantuan. Just from this teaser, one gets an insane sense of scope. I absolutely cannot wait to see this film in the IMAX format. From what I have heard from Bay, they won't be deluging the internet and TV with tons of ads which ruin the footage -- he wants people to feel like they haven't seen everything by the time they sit down in the theater. The full trailer, apparently, will be attached to Friday the 13th (no interest from me on that film) and then it will hit the net one week later. I have a feel that this film is going to be delirious.
While I LOVED the first movie--it's among the ten best pure popcorn entertainments of the decade, in my opinion--I did give it a very strong ***1/2. I thought it was a tad too long in the final action sequence (couldn't they have cut about 15 minutes off of it?). Still, one of Bay's finest works. He's underrated. (I think we've discussed this before, Nick.)
However, just from this teaser, it looks like Bay outdoes himself. It looks as if he somehow topped the f/x work from the first one (which had monumental, just-plain-staggering f/x work). It also looks like--no joking with this next, carefully chosen phrase--a popcorn masterpiece. I don't think I could tire of any action sequences, super-long though they may be, what with the looks of this robot. Just f'ing amazing. Possibly a midnight showing for me.

They can add a new lyric to the song "When I saw the Transformers 2ad, I jizzed in my pants."
