Just got back from seeing the supremely entertaining heist thriller THE BANK JOB, which is probably my favorite film of 2008 thus far. We've started off strong this year; CLOVERFIELD, IN BRUGES, and DEFINITELY, MAYBE have made for a nice begining, all delivering the goods for their respective genres. But THE BANK JOB is the best I've seen so far. My full review will be up soon. Just a damn fine thriller with great performances all around, and slick, old-school direction from veteran Roger Donaldson. It's probably the best film of his career.
