Loved Knight & Day -- it's a classic summer movie. Great action (if a little too much CGI at times), some funny lines, and two terrific "movie-star" performances from Cruise and Diaz. It's not a brilliant film by any means, but as far as these things go, it hits the right notes and doesn't overstay its welcome. Director James Mangold (Cop Land, Girl Interrupted, Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma) enjoys hopscotching from genre to genre, and for his first summer action flick, he did a bang-up job. Yes the movie is silly, yes it's totally ridiculous, but in this instance (as opposed to something like The A-Team) I was able to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the film as a work of pure, escapist entertainment.
Not sure if I'll see anything else this weekend -- still really want to see Get Him to the Greek. And I need to re-watch Toy Story 1 & 2 before seeing part 3.

I saw "Grown Ups" today, which was a lot of zany fun. Immature? Sometimes. But there was an overriding sense of nostalgia that lived underneath, and it gave the film some surprising believability. It was a bit too long, though, and some gags in the last act didn't work like they intended to, but I dunno, the chemistry won me over. It's certainly Sandler's best pure, Happy Madison comedy since the underrated "50 First Dates."
What'd you think of "Remember Me"??
Grown Ups looks like a sloppy deuce to me -- maybe on HBO I'd catch that one. I need more movies like Punch Drunk Love and Reign Over Me from Sandler.
Didn't see Remember Me yet -- will be getting to it ASAP.
Saw Toy Story 3 tonight. It really was excellent. Thoroughly entertaining from beginning to end.
