Here are the first full-on werewolf images from Joe Johnston's upcoming WOLFMAN, which was created by legendary creature designer Rick Baker. The phenomenal Benicio Del Toro will be the actor underneath all of the make-up/prosthetics.
Yes, I agree. Had Mark Romanek remained on the project, I'd be really anxious. Still, there are worse filmmakers out there than Joe Johnston. At least it's not Ratner or Harlin.
The original Wolfman was one of my all time favorites starring Lon Chaney Jr. In its day, (1941) the make up was considered state of the art and was designed by Jack Pierce who also created the original Frankenstein monster ('31) make up worn by Karloff. Pierce later on created The Mummy and many more. Rick Baker has credited Pierce on numerous occassions for his abilities as a master craftsman of make up. In those days creature make up was created layer by layer and in the Wolfman's case, Pierce insisted on using hair from a Yak because insisted that it had the coarse look he was looking for. Anyone ever try shaving a Yak?

I wish a director with a little more "oomph" was helming this but I'm excited all the same.

Yep. Ratner not being on this project is reason enough for celebration.
