Don't you have a book in your house?

what is a "book?"

You're a snotty little bugger. Try cracking a spine once in a while. You spend so much time in the movies you're as pale as my hiney on a winter's day. And as pretty.

Mister Rick: you have a wonderful way with words.

Wayne: nice line-up. Let me know what you think of Jesse James. I think you know how I stand with that one. Loved Into the Wild. Hardcore is pretty solid Schrader.

State of Play is a terrific miniseries and the upcoming feature film version with Russell Crowe is gonna be sensational I bet.

Elah is strong; much better than Crash (Haggis's last film).

Benicio Del Toro's performance in Things We Lost in the Fire is one of the best of the decade.

I loved "Into the Wild", not sure why i didn't make more of an effort to catch it on the big screen.

I've already seen "Jesse James", and feel it deserves a second viewing. There's so much to love about it, but, in a way, it feels like the child of a director v. studio war to me, which is what it is. But I'm hoping this time out I'll move from "strong admiration" to "love". The last 15 minutes, however, is stunning no matter how you slice the rest of the pic.

People who know of my Salivating Love for The Wire have pointed me to State of Play. I see that Jason Bateman will do the film as well, so that means I'm there.

I'm cautiously approaching Elah and Fire, led to them chiefly by the buzz around the lead perfs.

Elah is a strong, serious work with a tremendous lead performance from Jones. It went a little too on-the-nose for me in the final scene but Haggis really did some excellent work with the film overall.

Things We Lost in the Fire made my top 10 list last year, not only because of Del Toro's performance, but because of the excellent script, stylish camerawork, and patient direction. It's a great film that deserves to find a second life on DVD.

One can rarely go wrong with either Tommy Lee Jones or Benicio. Looking forward to checking these out.

I'm not particularly well-versed in the old classics by the European masters, but I did see and love 'Rules of the Game.' Very fun movie. I saw '30 Days of Night' the other night and I would set your expectations low. Crap. Last night I watched "Maverick." Fine film. As much as I love Mel's directing I wouldn't mind seeming him onscreen again. He was great...

I would love to see Mel in a leading role again. I just don't think it's gonna happen any time soon.
