NEEDS THE BLU TREATMENT

Top 3 Friedkin. French Connection, The Exorcist, and this one. Ok fine, To Live and Die in LA is also pretty bad-ass. Sorcerer is an awesome, manly film. Not as good as Wages of Fear (how could it be?) but incredible nonetheless. Brutal. Unrelenting tension. Machismo dripping from the frame. I've seen it only once (in shitty pan and scan) but it needs to be seen again.

Action: Is this such a good idea with Friedkin off his rocker on the "French Connection" Blu-ray?

He does seem to be a bit wacky these days, but as far as I'm concerned, it's inexcusable that Sorcerer isn't out on DVD, let alone Blu. Just not right.

Nick, I just watched "Fargo" for the first time (!), and MY GOD, MY GOD. Perfection from beginning to end. I can't believe I just saw it.

I could spend pages about it just from a first viewing, but I will be watching it twice more, which is the second time I'll have had that happen with a rented movie (after "Synecdoche, New York" earlier this year). A complete triumph. And I don't know about you, but Frances McDormand gave quite possibly the best female lead performance I've ever seen.
