Regarding your last one, Nick, see "True Grit" again before settling for "slight disappointment." There's a lot going on underneath. It's my #8 film of the year.

I liked Grit a lot -- loved many aspects of it. I just kept waiting for that something "else" to kick in, like it has on EVERY SINGLE one of their films. And upon first glance, all I got was a perfect genre entry. Not complaining per se, just saying that due to lofty expectations, I was left underwhelmed. Had James Mangold directed True Grit it might've made my top 10.
