Interesting. These are in precisely considered order? That is, you thought Schnabel's film was better than Dominik's? I haven't seen Diving Bell yet, but I thought Assassination of Jesse James was one of the best movies I've ever seen and nothing else I saw this year (or last year, etc.) even came close--although, for sure, There Will Be Blood is some kind of (pathologically) brilliant.

So this is every movie you saw this year, then?

Yes, this is the list of every movie I have seen this year. In order from my best to worst (favorite to least favorite). Jesse James was my absolute #1 (and it still my "favorite" film for the year) ever since I saw a test screening last April. But the emotion I felt while watching Diving Bell catapulted that film to my number one slot. But it's been a great year, and a very tough process making my list.

oh, and I just got a screener for There Will Be Blood, but I am torn as I really want to see it on the big screen on the first viewing but it will be next to impossible not to pop the dvd in this weekend...
