TWO TV MOVIES & TWO PILOTS

HBO's RECOUNT was phenomenal; one of the best movies I've seen all year.

THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN, an A&E movie produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, was just OK.

The CBS pilot THE EX-LIST was very stupid.

The CBS pilot 11th HOUR, from exec producer Jerry Bruckheimer, was competent but unspectacular. It's basically CSI with a science twist.

A full review for RECOUNT will be up soon.

Definintely looking forward to RECOUNT and your review of it.

Can we call this a comeback for Spacey? Please say yes.

Spacey was excellent. He's always good, it's the movies around him that suck on occasion. I haven't seen all of his recent films, but whenever I see one of his performances, I typically enjoy it.

Did you see Indy?

Spacey was Gold from 1995-1999, and then it went sour fast for me. This looks like a good one for him, though. 'Bout time.

I was in Arkansas all weekend on a short film shoot, so haven't seen Indy yet. The response from people in my circle is a bit muted so far, but if I'm getting a rave from your corner, I'll hold out some hope.

I really, really enjoyed Indy; loved many parts of it, overall, I liked it a helluva lot. It isn't perfect, it's a little different than the first 3, but I still loved it. I will be posting a spoiler-filled review (and also discussing the original trilogy) so don't read it till you see it. My feeling is: if you enjoyed the first three, especially as a kid, then you'll have a lot of fun with this one. I'd give it ***1/2, whereas I'd give the orginal 3 films **** each.
