MOVIES FOR THE WEEKEND

State of Play tomorrow. It looks tight.

Crank 2 hopefully on Sunday, if not, one night next week. Looks insane.

Got Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist from Netflix for sometime over the weekend. Could be cute. Or it could be a fee-fee. We'll see.

Full reviews will be coming up on Observe and Report (****) and Adventureland (***1/2).

I need to rent "Crank." The second looks...um...interesting. In a good way. :P

I loved the first one. It's a crazy fuckin' movie. The sequel looks like 100 types of bad-ass. It looks deranged but in a great way.

CRANK is the only game in town.

Of course I'll see STATE OF PLAY, but McAdams' hotness looks muted, as does MacDonald's Tony-esque visual style from LAST KING.

17 AGAIN, I wouldn't otherwise see in a billion years, but I might rent it for MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG'S insane hotness.

I can't wait to see Crank. And State of Play. I rather liked Scotland, and dug the visual style. I agree with you that McDonald isn't showing signs of being an auteur, but he knows what he's doing, and he's got great taste in material. And State of Play's shot by Rodrigo Prieto, who is fantastic.
