Dark Knight tops this for me. How can it not?

1. The Dark Knight
2. Spider-Man 2
3. Watchmen
4. Iron Man
5. X2
6. Batman Begins
7. Superman
8. Daredevil (most underrated)
9. Hellboy 2
10. Sky High (I know...bring on the jeers...)

I might include Incredibles, but that would be on my animated list.

And for me, Burton's visions are insanely overrated, as is Nicholson's ham-fisted, over-the-top performance as Jack. Batman Forever was the only one of the 90s Batman flicks I gave half a shit about and even that's borderline. Nolan brought the fucking house down.

Dark Knight is overrated. I liked it. Didn't love it by any means. Batman Begins is a masterpiece and I've felt that way ever since leaving the theater after seeing it the first time. On the other hand, I left the theater feeling unsatisfied after seeing The Dark Knight. I understand why people embraced it. It has spectacular action, an amazing performance from the late Heath L, and crisp direction. I'd put it in the top ten sci-fi flicks, just not at the top. Batman Begins #1, Spidy-2 #2.

Hey Actionman, this top ten list is fantastic. I agree with @Biff, Dark Knight was totally overrated. Batman Begins was much better in my opinion. Plus who would you rather look at, Katie Holmes or Maggie Gyllenhal?? Spider-Man 2 and Iron Man are also solid picks and would make my top ten. You can post this to our site http://www.toptentopten.com/ and link back to your site. We are trying to create a directory for top ten lists where people can find your site. The coolest feature is you can let other people vote on the rankings of your list.

TDK is not overrated; it's the pinnacle of the genre. It's Heat with superheroes. It's The Untouchables with masks. Know it.

Nope. Actionman is wrong. Plain wrong. Know it.

Get your own blog and then you can run your mouth...until then...you'll be considered animal droppings around these parts...

I like how Biff just spurts off cliches and calls it a day. He hasn't actually given any thoughts as to why it's overrated. He admits its "spectacular action, an amazing performance by the late Heath L, and crisp direction." I just don't understand what you thought was wrong with it, if this stuff spoke to you. Talk about consistency. Just sayin'.

Biff's a buddy of mine, so I'll cut him some slack, but trash talking TDK around these parts is ill-advised...

Joel, my point is The Dark Knight is a good/almost great Sci-Fi movie with some incredible scenes and some great performances; HOWEVER, it does not, in my opinion, match up to Batman Begins. There are only so many solid Sci-Fi movies that have been made and, despite some reservations, I'd still put The Dark Knight in my Top Ten. And Actionman, if we didn't go way back then I'd probably have to smack you around a little bit for that comment you made earlier.

And it's overrated because people praise it like it's Citizen Kane or something (check out the tomato meter on rottentomatoes.com). Like I said, I understand why people would like certain aspects about it, but it is not the best Sci-Fi movie ever made and does not deserve the recognition as such.

TDK isn't a sci-fi film. It is, however, the Citizen Kane of superhero films. I have no problems with using that description. TDK is epic in a lot of ways that filmmakers have never been within this genre. I too loved Batman Begins, but for me, that movie was a mere stepping stone for greater, larger things to come.
