FIRST TRAILER FOR CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR

Great cast (Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman), great director (Mike Nichols), and a great writer (Aaron Sorkin). I've read the script and it's terrific. Then why does the trailer feel so...I don't know...pedestrian?

I am sure it will be good (again, the script was great), but it doesn't get me super-duper excited. I have heard that Phil Hoffman, yet again, delivers an amazing performance. And the black-comedy elements of the script, which is more of a satire than a stinging political statement, might be tough to capture in a trailer. Still, it looks good, and is another film to add to this crowded fall/winter movie season.
