THE MIDDLE EAST SAYS NO TO THE KINGDOM

Peter Berg's excellent action thriller THE KINGDOM has been banned in Bahrain and Kuwait. It will be show uncut, however, in the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan.

THE KINGDOM was the first Hollywood movie to film in Abu Dhabi. The recent political thriller SYRIANA was the first Hollywood feature to shoot in Dubai. That film had to make specific content-related cuts to get passed in areas like Lebanon and in Dubai.

But most interestingly, Paul Greengrass's UNITED 93, passed in every territory without any problems. Hmmmm......
