Rumors are floating around that Chris Pine, who recently appeared in Joe Carnahan's SMOKIN' ACES in which he played a neo-Nazi assassin, is up for the role of Captain Kirk in JJ Abrams's new STAR TREK movie. Pine is also being courted to appear in Carnahan's next film, WHITE JAZZ, an adaptation of a novel by James Ellroy, which stars George Clooney. Trouble is, both films have overlapping shooting schedules, so he might have to choose one over the other. Or neither will come to pass. We'll see.....

THE NEW CAPTAIN KIRK?
